Multimedia Interview Assignment

“For a bunch of hairless apes, we've actually managed to invent some pretty incredible things.” ― Ernest Cline, Ready Player One

How can technology help building a community in the libraries? Professor Dan Ireton from Hale Library in K-State tells us about the ARG project “Ready Player One” (2013)

Thanks to Dan Ireton who is not only an amazing librarian, game advocate and worthy opponent, but also a great husband. I can vouch for that.

  1. Else, I love the ARG project that Dan is discussing. Very engaging and likely complicated to develop, but so much fun! I appreciated the additional information you cut into the interview. There were a few I couldn't catch fast enough, but working within the 10 minutes, I can understand why they had to be such short clips. Love the solution of making the technology challenges experienced just a part of the game.

  2. Elsa,

You did a wonderful job with your podcast. I had to do a phone interview, so I did not get to do the video thing and I know realize that mine is somewhat lacking compared to yours. The design was good and the cut-aways that you used to provide supplemental information was perfect to help understand what the professor was talking about. I also have to say that this ARG is a pretty cool idea. I had not heard of it prior to this. I think that it is a really novel idea. I have read the book that he is talking about and thought that the main idea of the book was a neat idea. I had no idea that KSU found a way to make that and use it to help students.
